Though many know Coconut Grove as a chic and trendy neighborhood, the community actually has a deep history with Bohemian roots. That quirky, artistic culture still shapes the Coconut Grove atmosphere and is celebrated each year at the Grove’s annual Mad Hatter Arts Festival. Now in its 10th year, the festival attracts art-loving residents throughout South Florida for a weekend of art, music, food and contests at The Barnacle Historic State Park.

On Thursday, Nov. 20, grab a table at Vinos in the Grove for a special wine tasting event. The evening will provide a “taste of California” with premier wines while ticket proceeds will be donated to a charity. Further adding to the Grove’s vibrant culinary scene, each Tuesday and Saturday the acclaimed TK’s at the Villa Mayfair will host the Chef’s Tasting Table.  Join bar master, David Ungar, as he dazzles with a mixology lesson and a perfectly crafted Mojito, followed by a four course dining experience and  culinary discussion with Head Chef Maribel Gaynor.

And on the heels of my successful event for The Setting at MiaCucina in Coral Gables yesterday, I wanted to explore a Coral Gables spot for a weekend date night. I’ll be trying Uvaggio, a new wine bar with innovative tapas sharing plates right on Miracle Mile. The unique wine list features labels from the smallest distributors, and small pour flights let you try out all the new varietals!
