According to the MIAMI Association of Realtors (MIAMI) and the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) system, Miami-Dade County real estate set a record for the most total home sales in a quarter in 2Q 2021 as pent-up demand, more U.S. individuals and companies moving to South Florida, and record-low mortgage rates fueled transactions. Total home sales in Miami-Dade County increased 142.4 percent year over year, from 4,766 to 11,553. Single-family house sales in Miami increased by 66.9%, from 2,688 to 4,486. Single-family houses in Miami have increased in value year over year in eight of the last nine quarters, a period of more than two years. Existing condo sales in Miami surged by 240.1 percent, from 2,078 to 7,067 units sold.
