Since so many of ONE Sotheby’s clients, colleagues and friends flock to Aspen for the holidays, we couldn’t resist putting together a travel guide for our favorite ski town. This is a splashier season than usual, namely because it marks the 75th anniversary of Aspen Snowmass ski area. Special promotions like $75 adult lift tickets and exclusive products are part of the celebration. And if you can’t make it out there just yet, the ski lifts will be running through April 17. See you on the slopes.

Room Refresh

Be among the first to stay at the Little Nell Hotel Group’s renovated Limelight Hotel in Aspen. Stonehill Taylor firm designed its new 120 guestrooms, six suites with full kitchens and common areas including a first-ever kids’ club in homage to the city’s silver mining heritage. Culture abounds, too, from digital art to a stage.

Stylish Souvenirs

Wear your souvenir. Hublot’s limited-edition exclusive watch commemorates Aspen’s 75th anniversary, while Aspen Skiing Company partnered with Prada for a capsule collection within its AspenX experiential lifestyle brand. Men’s and women’s outerwear features performance fabrics and artist Paula Crown’s graphics. Find them along with sweatshirts at the AspenX store off the Gondola Plaza.

Mountain Girl

Following the herd of South Florida restaurants here, Chica launched an Aspen location. The “chica” spoken of is chef Lorena Garcia who tempts diners with her signature arepa basket. Other hit dishes are crispy Peruvian octopus and wagyu NY strip steak, or just make it easy and order the roasted meat parrillada.

Ways of Warhol

On view at Aspen Art Museum through March 27, 2022, “Andy Warhol: Lifetimes” reveals the man behind the myth. The traveling survey from London examines the parallel between his life and work through new material and insight, so even experts come away with learning something new. Don’t miss Rooftop Café’s fab new menu either.

Shop Talk

Aspen treats shopping like a sport, so it’s no wonder that a bevy of brands like Mackage, Citizens of Humanity and Kith are opening permanent and pop-up spaces. Gabriela Hearst’s world of luxe sustainable fashion occupies Max boutique’s residency space through March. Score a coveted handbag amid her cool design installation of reclaimed wood pieces.

Event Driven

Barely giving people time to recover from the holidays, the festivities continue. Wintersköl celebrates all things wintry and fun (dog fashions, fireworks!) from January 13-16. Aspen Gay Ski week’s 45th anniversary from January 16-23 brings dinners, drag queens, dance parties and a glam benefit for AspenOUT. Ski and snowboard sensations compete in the X-Games Aspen from January 21-23.

Lounging at the Lodge

The Snow Lodge Supper Club at the St. Regis Aspen imports Montauk to the mountains. The all-star collaboration by The Surf Lodge (vibe and programming) Elevated Returns (supper, bites) and Dante NYC (cocktails) promises good times all season long. Jake Wesley Rogers, Eli & Fur, Elderbrook and Léon are booked to play.
