Farm Friends

Skip the store and pick up organic produce, eggs, bread, honey and other delicacies directly through South Florida farms. Little River Cooperative organizes two weekly curbside pickups as well as home deliveries. Urban Oasis Project’s multiple, citywide pickup locations include Tropical Park and the Arsht Center. Community Farmers Markets of South Florida holds its Plantation market at Volunteer Park on March 27.

The restaurant community supports hospitality workers through a number of initiatives. Casa D’Angelo donates all proceeds from gift cards, which are discounted 20 percent, to its staff. Patrons can also order its popular Italian specialties from its takeout and “white glove” delivery menu. Science Class

Running out of ideas to entertain your bored brood? Parents can take advantage of museums’ educational programming for children. Frost Science stepped up with Frost Science@Home, a digital platform series with cool videos, DIY activities and virtual exhibition tours. Kids can also meet a resident loggerhead turtle and learn about the species, along with other topics from outer space to sharks.
