Marvelous works by Agnes Martin, Umar Rashid, Kaws and Laura Owens—not to mention Frank Stella’s 1977 painting from his “Scramble” series, pictured—are among Contemporary Curated’s lots that go live on September 30. Sotheby’s tapped Grammy-nominated DJ Steve Aoki to guest curate this season, which includes his passion for NFTs.

Color Field

The uniquely-themed sale titled Expansive Color: American Past Painterly Abstraction focuses on a small selection of Color Field works inspired by a LACMA exhibit in 1964. The Abstract movement was trailblazed by artists such as Helen Frankenthaler, whose Eye of the Storm painting is featured here. The online-only auction closes October 1.

Palm Beach

While the above auctions are taking place in New York, Sotheby’s Palm Beach gallery exhibits Selected Works by John Baldessari and Ed Ruscha through November 14.
