Future of Fairs

Art Basel Hong Kong may be canceled, but the show goes on through its new online viewing rooms. Ninety percent of the fair’s exhibitors are currently participating in the VIP preview, upon which the digital initiative opens to the public from March 20-25. Collectors can virtually browse thousands of artworks from galleries like Hong Kong-based Galerie du Monde, which highlights six post-war abstract artists.

Donation Demands

Local charities need donations more than ever. United Way revamped its VolunteerMiami portal to help the most vulnerable with meals to medical attention. The American Red Cross of Greater Miami and The Keys scheduled an emergency blood drive on March 20. Lotus House requested extra funds, volunteers and supplies such as surgical masks and infrared thermometers. Feeding South Florida called for donations, too.

Pint-Sized Protection

BloqUV, a Miami-born, sunwear collection whose chemical-free fabric guarantees an ultraviolet protection factor of 50+, introduced children’s swim shirts. Choose from long-sleeve crewnecks in six cheerful colors, while also picking up new lightweight wraps for the whole family and friends. Find the brand at stores, clubs and resorts like Everything But Water and Fisher Island.

Wine on the Way

South Florida’s premier wine stores will come to you. Fort Lauderdale-based Wine Watch has always delivered including to Miami on Thursdays and Boca Raton on Fridays. View its inventory in real time on the web site. Wolfe’s Wine Shoppe limits deliveries to Coral Gables, Coconut Grove and South Miami. Its popular six-pack features three reds, two whites and one rosé.
