One day while perusing Instagram, Katya Bravo spotted a cocktail garnished with a wisp of lavender-flavored cotton candy. The Miami entrepreneur who already owned a popular digital photo booth service for events hatched her next venture, Tropical Fluff. Parents approve of her cotton candy recipe that uses all-natural cane sugar harvested in Florida and custom-blended in Atlanta as well as natural flavors and colors. Each order takes only a single teaspoon of sugar, too, not to mention it’s Kosher-certified, and gluten- and fat-free. Her first flavor, “unicorn dreams,” was an instant success for its marshmallow base sprinkled with Lucky Charms and edible glitter. Ten signature flavors also include framboise, choco coco, rose, blood orange, strawberry lemonade, and mango piquant dusted with chili powder. For summer, she’s introducing cherry pie.

Cia.Marítima, one of Brazil’s biggest resort-wear brands, is opening a boutique in Aventura Mall in time for the annual Miami swim week in July. Founded nearly 30 years ago, designer and chief executive officer Benny Rosset’s São Paulo fashion collection has proven it’s more than bikinis. A mainstay of Miami swim week, it pioneered the beach-to-bar category with glam resort pieces embellished and embroidered as if haute eveningwear. Miamians discovered it through Saks Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdale’s, but now they’ll be able to have the complete assortment to refresh summer wardrobes. Beyoncé gave the Latin American import a boost when she wore its one piece in a vibrant tropical print while vacationing in Hawaii. In addition to exclusive prints and innovative silhouettes, the brand stands out for high-tech fabrics.

Celebrate the start of summer with Royal Poinciana Plaza’s fun events. The posh center presents live music in its courtyard on Thursday evenings. Sound Proof, a jazz and blues ensemble, plays on summer solstice, followed by saxophonist Reginald Ellison on June 28, the Palm Beach Symphony on July 5, and guitarist and singer George Grosman on July 12. Bring a blanket for a picnic with prepared meals from onsite restaurants like Coyo Taco and Sant Ambroeus, which hosts a weekly young professionals’ happy hour the same night. Virginia Philip Wine, Spirits & Academy highlights a selection of chilled wines to pair with your light supper. Palm Beach Bicycle Trail Shop also relocated nearby for new bikes and rentals including skates and scooters alongside the island’s Lake Trail.

With everyone gearing up for summertime backyard barbecues, it sure is convenient to have an old-fashioned butcher shop for quality cuts and other delicacies. Jason and Melanie Schoendorfer, whose booth at the Pinecrest Gardens Farmer’s Market forms a constant queue, opened a brick-and-mortar business in Palmetto Bay. Fans of “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” will chuckle at their venture’s name, Babe’s Meat & Counter, as in “Babe Froman,” which is inspired by one of the film’s funniest scenes. While working at nearby Joanna’s Marketplace, Melanie learned about cheese and charcuterie and how to make sausages and to smoke meat. With her own place, she’s able to graduate from just bacon to the butchering the whole hog. Sample her artisanal ingredients at the onsite café for breakfast and lunch.
