South Florida art lovers are in for a big treat this weekend. Years in the making, the Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach finally reopens with its expansion and new reconfiguration by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Lord Norman Foster of Foster + Partners. The addition not only features a nearly 60,000-square-foot wing—a 35 percent increase in gallery space from the original layout—but Foster’s inaugural public garden, which exhibits sculptures spanning the 20th and 21st centuries, including the iconic Typewriter Eraser, Scale X by Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen. The museum’s photography collection receives a dedicated gallery for the first time, while its social and education entities also gain proper venues. The grand opening on February 9 commences with a parade and includes free admission.

Aloha Redland, a new bucolic oasis for wellness retreats and organic produce in Homestead, is hosting a plant-based dinner during Presidents’ Day Weekend on February 17. Farmers Martina Gonzalez and Alicia del Aguila have been busy growing and harvesting the ingredients for the multicourse feast that falls under a nearly full moon. They only ask guests to bring their own bubbly, wine and spirits as well as comfortable walking shoes for the farm stroll at 4 p.m. Much more than your average farm, the property features a grotto pool, amphitheater and even a chic tepee. Mixologists will be whipping up garden-to-glass drinks during the mocktail hour, followed by Ayurvedic-inspired dishes in collaboration with the farmers at nearby Produce & Pantry for $100 per person. Caribbean Breeze band provides tunes.

Need some decorating tips? Head to the second annual Kips Bay Decorator Show House Palm Beach daily through February 20. The Florida edition of the popular New York event pops up at 6215 South Flagler Drive in West Palm Beach to benefit the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club and Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County. Originating in Manhattan in 1973, the concept invites famous interior designers to transform a high-end home with fabulous furniture, artworks and decorative accents. There are tons of events, too, such as a floral design demonstration hosted by Cathy B. Graham on February 9 and a design trend forecast seminar on February 16. If you can’t make it, support the charity by purchasing Stubbs & Wootton slippers with its front door logo online.
Collectors of luxury watches and cars and other over-the-top treasures know the Miami Design District is the place to be on Presidents’ Day Weekend. They fly in from all over the world for Watches & Wonders, an annual event that’s becoming the U.S. version of Art Basel for makers and enthusiasts of the most exquisite Swiss timepieces. Many watches have only been shown in Switzerland, so it’s the most efficient way to see the best of everything in one place. Even the ladies are getting in the action; this year introduces a panel about women collectors on February 16 at 2 p.m. Omega, Roger Dubuis and Sevan Biçakçi are among a dozen watch and jewelry firms that are making their debut. Multiple lavish dinners and parties are also planned.
