Summer vacation is here, and Latitude 33 is making sure the whole family is on board with the destination of choice. The digitally native fashion brand founded by Gymboree’s former chief executive officer is opening brick-and-mortar stores including Aventura Mall. The sustainable, eco-friendly company grows its own certified, organic cotton for boy’s and girl’s clothing, cuts down on water waste through state-of-the-art treatment facilities and practices fair-trade initiatives with workers. Boutiques feature comfy seating for families to relax, while kids play with toys and tablets. Its omnichannel platform directly ships orders from company-owned warehouses to customers, which continue through its online store and Amazon Prime. Andy Warhol, Raymond Pettibon, Ana Mendieta and Nicole Eisenman are among artists exhibiting in NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale’s “Remember to React Part II” through September 29. Director and chief curator Bonnie Clearwater selected more than 50 works from the museum’s permanent collection as a continuation of its 60th anniversary’s theme, also titled Remember to React. Collectors should note it includes Pettibon’s first video, Repeater Pencil, an animation of his drawings that dates to 2004. Other key works are a monumental ink drawing about the battle of the sexes from Eisenman, prints by partners of famous artists such as Lee Krasner (Jackson Pollock) and Elaine de Kooning (Willem de Kooning), and Mendieta’s rare drawing inspired by archeological images of earth goddesses that the museum recently acquired.

Vero Beach-based chef Michael Lander has had many lives. He’s cooked at the Moorings Club, Michael’s Table and its pop up at Orchid Island Brewery. A few weeks ago, Lander resurfaced with his namesake restaurant at a new location on the mainland. Michael’s on 7th serves summer classics like deviled eggs garnished with local micro greens, pimento cheese to slather on toasted country bread with bacon jam, and a half rack of kung pao ribs topped with peanuts and scallions. Salad lovers will find a traditional chopped with Italian meats and cheeses and more modern dishes from a buddha bowl to curry vinaigrette-dressed crudité. Long-time patrons will be pleased to learn his signature lobster martini made the move as well. The poached crustacean swims in beurre blanc.
