Malibu Farm Pier Café and Restaurant, the mogul- and celeb-spotted, farm-to-fork destination on Billionaire’s Beach overlooking the Pacific Ocean, expanded to the East Coast. Shortened to Malibu Farm, the organic restaurant adds to the Nobu Hotel Miami Beach’s dining options. Having grown up with fresh produce, meat and seafood in Sweden, chef founder Helene Henderson has never known anything but locally sourced whole foods. In addition to her signature dishes like a chicken ricotta burger with spicy aioli and coconut tofu with seasonal veggies and quinoa, her new location exclusively features a wood-burning pizza oven. She folds healthy ingredients (cauliflower, zucchini) into her pizza dough and tops pies with local ingredients like callaloo greens and bacon from Miami Smokers. Cocktails are healthier, too, thanks to fresh fruit juices and herbs.

Sub-Zero/Wolf/Cove, a multigenerational, Midwestern maker of high-end kitchen appliances, celebrated its new, 7,500-square-foot showroom in the Miami Design District earlier this week. Owner Jim Bakke greeted guests from the local design community to his first Florida location within a portfolio of 60 showrooms worldwide. The immersive concept displays more than 135 products focusing on refrigerators, dishwashers, ovens, cooktops, ranges and microwaves. Amenities include a lounge, large wine room and centrally positioned, state-of-the-art kitchen featuring 20 live appliances for customers to try. It’s full-time chef Alex Diaz’s stage during cooking demonstrations and more culinary experiences. The rooftop deck, a unique setting for the company, offers a summer kitchen to grill al fresco meals. Miami artist Douglas Hoekzema’s mural is also special.

ONE Sotheby’s International Realty hosts a reception for “YoungArts at ONE” at its South of Fifth office in Miami Beach on May 15, from 6-8 p.m. Part of its “ONE is where the art is” program, the exhibition features works by YoungArts alumni, such as Alexander Wong’s 2017 “Masculine 1,” pictured. Three YoungArts winners join ONE Sotheby’s president Daniel de la Vega, YoungArts president and ceo Carolina Garcia Jayaram and Wolfsonian-FIU director emerita Cathy Leff in conversation. If you see a swamp around YoungArts’ Miami headquarters this weekend, don’t be alarmed. The South Florida-inspired set is for a one-time performance of director and choreographer Yara Travieso’s “El Ciclón” on May 12, at 8 p.m. The YoungArts alumna’s “wild neo-feminist mythology” combines theater, dance, cinema, music and alligators. Reserve complimentary tickets here.

West Palm Beach’s busy parents and professionals have a new quick spot for daily brunch and dinner on South Dixie Highway. Mazie’s opened in a homey setting with brick, wood beams and black-and-white family photos. Designer Scotty Wonders’ signature rustic look can also be found at Zak the Baker and Wynwood Yard, among other South Florida projects. Chef partner Eric Baker comes from Max’s Harvest in Delray Beach, where he was executive chef, and his eatery’s name honors his grandmother. He teamed up with couple Jason and Sandra Lakow, general manager and sommelier, respectively, for a global comfort food concept. Starters such as Moroccan lamb knish with apricot yogurt, smoked fish with mini bagels and warm curried crab dip with naan are just a taste of the menu’s immense diversity.
