Help out the marine environment by attending these October events. The Florida Oceanographic Society and Indian Riverkeeper are among regional nonprofits hosting Rally for the River 2018 on the morning of October 13 in Stuart’s Flagler Park (201 SW Flagler Avenue). Attendees will tour a living oyster reef to learn about local water quality and bagging the briny bivalves. It’s a great way for all ages to learn about preserving their waterways. Miami’s Ahana Yoga presents High Tide Yoga Festival, an all-day, wellness gathering on October 20 to benefit Surfrider Foundation’s local chapter. (It’s also the studio’s two-year anniversary.) Surfrider rids oceans and beaches of litter, especially plastic. Yoga for all ages, workshops, music and a makers’ bazaar are offered at 3801 NE First Avenue. Purchase tickets through Ahana.
After reinventing Miami’s Surf Club into a stunning Four Seasons, Fort Partners is working its magic on the Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach. The developers tapped Martin Brudnizki to design its new pastel palette and beachier finishes such as terrazzo and rattan, as well as local landscape designer Fernando Wong for the grounds. Wong, who also worked on the Surf Club project, was able to locate a mature tropical tree again to install as the lush garden’s focal point. Within 209 suites and rooms total, the hotel adds a new category of first-floor accommodations with personal, spacious outdoor areas around the pool. A two Michelin-starred chef helms onsite restaurant Florie’s, when the resort re-opens in November; Mauro Colagreco gained fame for his Mirazur on the France and Italy border.

Never mind that Miami Spa Month has ended. Faena Hotel’s Tierra Santa Healing House keeps the perks coming through special packages. The 22,000-square-foot, breathtaking spa offers the Pranic Healing Conference on October 13, from 3-5 p.m. Spa director Agustina Caminos leads the introduction to Master Choa Kok Sui’s no-touch energy techniques. The journey uses Twin Hearts meditation to clear chakras and harness positive energy. Try out your new practice later in the month on the 24th in the property’s Mammoth Garden. Modern Om takes the group on a Full Moon Twin Hearts Meditation. It’s among the partnership’s Cushion Crawl, a 21-day mindfulness challenge whose participants visit 21 unique settings and studios here for a meditation series. Afterward, treat yourself to a service with Naturopathica or Biologique Recherche skin-care products.

From an art auction to an Eighties throwback, the Miami Design District cranks up its calendar this weekend. St. Roch Market and the OG Supper Club collaborate for a roving dinner party to taste all the food hall’s vendors on October 11. Reserve here. The third annual Fashion Fights Cancer benefit supports research while enjoying a performance by Alma Dance Theater and a cocktail reception at the Moore Building (191 NE 40th Street) on October 12. Fashion stylist and cancer survivor Angeles Almuna founded and hosts the cause. Reserve here. At the same time, Taylor Dayne gives a complimentary concert in the Palm Court (140 NE 39th Street). On Saturday, Locust Projects conducts its annual Smash & Grab fund-raiser. The random raffle invites collectors to choose a donated artwork from emerging to famous artists.
