Equestrian events are galloping into our region. Georgina Bloomberg and Jessica Springsteen are among show jumping competitors at the Longines Global Champions Tour from April 3-6. World Polo League plays its largest tournament on the sand during the Beach Polo World Cup from April 19-21. Held on Sundays with lavish champagne brunches at Wellington’s National Polo Center, the U.S. Open Polo Championship’s tournaments conclude April 21.

Miami Film Festival

Hosted by Miami Dade College at various venues from April 5-14, the 41st Miami Film Festival screens approximately 180 films, half of which are directed by women, from 30 countries. Genres focus on narratives, documentaries and shorts. Along with 10 world premieres, highlights include respective opening and closing night films “Thelma” and “Ezra” and “The Idea of You,” a rom-com based on the eponymous novel.

The 16th anniversary edition—whose theme is Pride Progress Perseverance—officially begins with raising the Pride Flag at city hall on April 4, and culminates with grand marshal Billy Porter leading the parade on April 14.
