The Scoop | Week of March 21

Since spring break is such a big part of Florida culture, we’re devoting back-to-back Scoops to the annual, sun-seeking ritual. Many of our clients and colleagues prefer to hit the ski slopes on their vacations this time of year, but we’re going all in on tropical themes like beaches, pool-proud resorts, glam swimwear and everything else you need for the perfect spring break experience. In Part II, we continue with new resorts in beachy locales. Bon voyage.

1 Hotel Hanalei Bay

Fans can now stay at its first property in Hawaii, 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay in Kauai. Repurposing the site’s natural teak, lava stone and quartz, its design seamlessly blends with the island’s verdant landscape. Abundant activities and local fare complete the wellness utopia.

The St. Regis Kanai Resort, Riviera Maya

Nestled next to Mexico’s 620-acre UNESCO World Heritage Site Sian Ka’an Reserve, the St. Regis Kanai Resort, Riviera Maya leaves a light footprint as not to compete with Mother Nature. The architects looked to the constellation Pleiades for its curved, minimal layout with maximum ocean views. Guests are further spoiled with eight dining destinations and a two-mile stretch of white sand beach.

The Lucie

With the Lucie, Opal Collection upgraded and rebranded an existing hotel in Jensen Beach’s Hutchinson Island. Its oceanfront location, chic pool and serene pale blue and crisp white palette denote “beach holiday.” The hospitality group has been busy around Florida; it also added the Atlantic Suites on the Avenue (Delray Beach), Reefhouse Resort (Key Largo) and the Capri Inn (Naples).
